AGING MASTERY PROGRAM

The Northwest seniors held a graduation ceremony on Thursday July 18th for the 2019 AMP (Aging Mastery Program). The class was held weekly for ten weeks and covered many subjects to help seniors age with more information at their disposal. The afternoon concluded with a catered luncheon and certificates for all. Students were also given gift cards for their participation. Our annual Northwest senior center picnic was held on Monday July 15th. Each year this event is sponsored by North District Council Member Joe Golombek and served by Joe and his staff (Chef Sandy) and Aide Jen. All seniors were given red Northwest tees for our 2019 summer season by Northwest Executive Director Larry Pernick.

Pennie Misuraca and George Hoage shows us their pre-wedding congratulations cake. On Thursday July 11th the northwest seniors presented them with the cake and a large card with best wishes for their upcoming nuptials. George and Pennie met at the center and George proposed to Pennie at their 2018 Christmas party. We all know they make a great couple and will share many happy years together.

The Northwest Buffalo seniors celebrated the 4th on the 3rd with a special holiday luncheon. Ice cold snacks and a special firecracker coverall Bingo. MAYORS VOLUNTEER LUNCHEON

This is a picture taken at Buffalo Mayor Byron Browns annual luncheon for most valuable senior volunteers. The luncheon took place on Friday May 31st. Representing the Northwest Buffalo Community Center is Mr. Al Killian. Mr. Killian is a Board Member at the Northwest senior center. He also volunteers weekly at an area church soup kitchen that feeds the less fortunate. Al is a member of the Knights of Columbus and is instrumental in planning and cooking for their holiday dinners at a local soup …

Our annual Mothers Day celebration was held on Wednesday May 8th. This year we had the pleasure of hosting a group of talented ladies from Buffalo Prenatal Perinatal Network. They catered to the seniors by delivering lunch and calling the special Mothers Day Bingo session. All women were given corsages from Graser’s Florist and special raffle prizes were given away that afternoon.
